Abstract Submission Form

You are invited to submit abstracts for the 38th annual SA Assessment Centre Study Group (ACSG) conference to be held from 12 to 16 March 2018 at the Hilton in Sandton, South Africa.

We would like to learn from your latest assessment centre research and are thus leaving the theme for the conference to emerge from submissions received.  Your abstract will go through a blind peer review process of which you will receive feedback, with possible suggestions, before the conference.

Abstract submission is open and you can download the abstract submission form from the links at the top. The closing date for submissions has been extended to Friday, 20 October 2017.

Abstract submissions could be in the following formats:

Pre-conference Workshops which are conducted the day prior to the conference on 14 March 2018. International and local speakers will conduct workshops on their area of expertise. The focus of the workshops is skills transfer. The workshops will each be four hours long to give enough time for interaction between presenters and workshop delegates.

Presentations on 15 and 16 March 2018 should aim to address relevant contemporary issues. Both scientific research and practical case studies will be accepted. To increase the value-add of your presentation, we request that presenters leave the conference delegates with either some tips, tools or a template to help them to apply the lessons learnt. Please note that open-space presentations may be repeated to give conference delegates the opportunity to attend two presentations done during the same open-space slot. Presentations are 60 minutes long; 45 minutes for the presentation and 10 minutes for questions.

Speakers’ Corner / Short and Ignite Sessions presenters will have an opportunity to showcase some interesting research which may be “under construction.” This platform should be used by presenters who want to showcase projects, research or programmes related to assessment centre which have not reached full fruition. It creates an ideal opportunity for students and practitioners to present preliminary ideas and findings. Three short sessions will be hosted in an hour slot.

Review criteria: Abstracts received will be reviewed by an International Blind Peer Review Panel. The panel will evaluate all abstracts (not knowing who sent the abstract). Presenters will receive feedback of the review process on or before 30 November 2017.
