No revision needed

How relevant is the perspective presented to current theory and/or practice in the field of assessments and assessment centre methodology?

1

The presentation focuses on workplace flexibility, well-being, and work–life balance within the Early Childhood Development (ECD) sector. While the topic is valuable from an HR, leadership, and policy perspective, there is no direct or indirect link to Assessment methodology, Assessment Centres (ACs) and Competency assessment, simulation, or selection practices. The submission does not engage with assessments or assessment centre methodology and therefore falls outside the core scope of the ACSG conference.

To what extent does the presentation offer a perspective that is relevant to current theory and/or practice in assessments and assessment centre methods?

1

Although the presentation is theoretically grounded (e.g., Social Exchange Theory) and relevant to HR and organisational practice, it does not address assessment theory or assessment practice. The relevance is therefore misaligned with the stated focus of the conference. While relevant to HR and education management, the topic does not align with current theory or practice in the field of assessments or assessment centres.

How well does the presentation demonstrate originality and relevance to current issues in assessments and assessment centres?

2

The findings and recommendations are generalisable to Education leadership, HR practice and Public and NGO sectors. However, they are not generalisable to assessment or AC practice, which limits applicability for ACSG delegates. The learning is transferable within HR and education contexts, but not to assessment centre methodology

To what extent is the presentation grounded in sound theory or defensible practice relevant to assessments and assessment centres?

5

The presentation is well-grounded in Social Exchange Theory (SET, Qualitative empirical research and Contemporary well-being and flexibility literature. From a research and practice perspective, this is a clear strength of the submission Strong theoretical and empirical grounding, appropriate for a research-focused HR or education conference.

3

To what extent does the presentation replicate or closely resemble content presented recently at another local conference?
